What are some good hobbies to pick up?

Playing video games doesn't make me happy any more. What are some hobbies that make you guys happy and enjoy life that you might recommend? I was planning to go and pick up boxing because a person I know said it was a good way to lose weight. I also do cooking but I mostly just make stuff for homemade meals, grilling and less of the fancy artsy stuff. The other thing I do is writing but I'm not that good at it and I get tired after going at it for a few hours and then just cool off for a week. I'm really embarrassed to even show my work to others so I sometimes wonder what the point even is. I don't know if I am neglecting it because I'm either busy, or lazy and don't truly care.

I learned to crochet recently. It was easy to learn and it's nice to have the ability. I have already made a few gifts for people and am working on a rad blanket for myself. But then again, I feel my desire for hobbies is actually my desire for money and if it doesn't make money, ultimately it is a waste of time in this world. Sucks.

Other ideas are painting figurines, sculpting, pottery/glazing, painting landscapes, woodcraft, learning instrument.

    Cheers.

Boxing is great, training to improve and eventually having your first fight really helps if you're feeling fucking useless all the time, That image hit me too close to home

Skating was great for helping me get out of the house and sweating a little, but if you don't have friend's to do it with, it just sucks. None of my friends skate anymore and there aren't any parks or spots where people meetup near me, so I just stopped doing it.

Simply going out and exercising is pretty fun. you dont need to train like any Olympic athlete but just get your blood flowing and sweat a little.

MMA/Boxing/Grappling/Brazilian Ju-Jitsu any sort of combat sport. They are fulfilling in a way that no other sport is. Also it truly does give you mental fortitude and a skill that is good to have in life. I encourage everyone to give it a try. I have seen it change lives. And like you said it will definitely get you in shape. Good luck.
